Corrosion of Conformity Show Review | Jannus Live, January 2016, 2018
Experiencing a Corrosion of Conformity show never gets old. I’ve seen this band once before, at the Florida Metal Fest in 2015. They played well at that show, but I loved their set way more when I saw them at Jannus Live on September 26.
What really got me about COC’s set is the intensity of their set. Each song was played so well, and resonated with you. You could feel each song throughout your body. It was almost like all of Downtown St. Petersburg was engulfed in COC.
COC truly proved they’re unstoppable. No matter who’s in the band, they will always prevail. But this was still the case with Pepper Keenan. He sounded absolutely perfect on stage. He and their bassist, Mike Dean, by far had the best stage presence. But the whole band did a phenomenal job and everyone sounded perfect.
My favorite album by COC is Deliverance, and they played my favorite song “Albatross” (which is featured in the video). It sounded like I was listening to the song on the CD. But even their newer songs, such as “The Luddite” sounded incredible.
Overall, I had a great time watching COC perform. Being in the photo pit was fun, but I also stood back and watched them perform the entirety of their set (even in the cold while I was hungry!) and I would definitely watch them again.
Watch my video review and check out some of the pictures I got of their set.
