Doll Skin Discusses Shiprocked and Their Upcoming European Tour
Doll Skin is one of the top rising bands. Their sound has extreme versatility; a blend of Runaways with modern emo influences and pop punk make up this band’s coined sound. This makes Doll Skin unable to simply place in one genre.
Each member of Doll Skin has insane talent. Vocalist Sydney Dolezal is one of my favorite vocalists in punk and rock, bassist Nicole Rich has an old-school style to her bass playing that’s intoxicating, guitarist Alex Snowden always busts out some crazy solos, and drummer Meghan Herring always throw in fun drum grooves.
I’ve seen Doll Skin live three times now. Even when I’m not doing press for this band, I attend their shows because their live set is so much fun. Watching Sydney walk out in the crowd and making sure you sing along is always funny. This last time I saw them at Brass Mug was as great of a show as any other.
Doll Skin truly showed maturity with their newest album Manic Pixie Dream Girl. The songs also sounded perfect live. I’m also excited to hear other music Doll Skin has planned in the future! Doll Skin fans are witnessing an exciting time. These band members are young, but they’re talented musicians. You can tell they’re maturing as a band and their sound is getting tighter. We can only expect great things from Doll Skin in the future!
I was able to speak to Doll Skin when they played in Tampa. In the interview we discuss playing Shiprocked and their upcoming tour in Europe.
