Andy Marsh of Thy Art is Murder Discusses 2018 Touring
It’s safe to say that Thy Art is Murder started a legacy. I remembering discovering Thy Art is Murder almost 10 years ago, being stoked that I came across such an amazing and unknown band from Australia. But watching their career grow is amazing.
Like a lot of modern bands, Thy Art is Murder is known for being one of the deathcore purveyors. And like a lot of those bands, Thy Art is Murder’s style grew over the years. But what really stands out about TAIM is their sound transitioned into something more brutal and sinister than when they first started.
This is how I felt when I listened to their newest album, Dear Desolation. The album sounds more like a classic death metal album than a modern metal band. You can tell TAIM is visiting their roots, which I definitely respect.
Another reason this band stands out is their live show. TAIM have a phenomenal stage presence, each song sounds perfect, and they constantly draw an insane crowd. That’s why I try and catch them each time they tour through here.
I spoke to Thy Art is Murder lead guitarist Andy Marsh while they played at The Orpheum in Tampa, Florida. In the interview we discuss their co-headlining tour with Dying Fetus and their upcoming Europe festival run.
