Monstrosity “Passage of Existence” Album Review | Infernal TV Episode 10
It’s been 11 years since we saw a Monstrosity album. And the anticipation was well worth it. Passage of Existence proves that Monstrosity still has what it takes to remain a legendary band. They haven’t lost their signature sound. But they’re still versatile enough to go down different paths in their songwriting.
Each player did phenomenal. I can’t write a Monstrosity review without emphasizing Lee Harrison. He’s one of the most talented drummers in the game and his skill shows in this album. Guitarists Mark English and Matt Barnes unleash a whirlwind of guitars throughout the whole albums, playing some phenomenal riffs and solos. And of course Mike Hbrubovak is an awesome vocalists and his voice still sounds awesome 11 years later.
The album starts very old-school. Songs such as the single Radiated remind you of older Monstrosity material. Things get a little more technical into the middle of the album, starting with The Proselygeist. This song is very unique because it features proggier aspects the band hasn’t used. The album goes right back to heavy, starting with The Hive and lasting throughout the end of the album.
Overall, Monstrosity is back and are here to stay! Play the video and see what all I have to say about Passage of Existence!
