Sven From Aborted Discusses Touring and TerrorVision | Infernal TV Episode 21

Aborted has been one of my favorite bands for as long as I can remember. I can’t remember what brought me to listen to them. I just remember snagging The Archaic Abbatoir and getting hooked from there. Aborted combines the best of brutal death metal with technicality and several soundclips from some of my favorite horror films.

All of their albums are incredible (yes, I even like Strychnine). TerrorVision is no exception. In my interview with Sven de Caluwé, he mentioned the album has an atmospheric quality. I definitely agree with this. However, I think they amped up the technicality and added some crazier guitar riffs than what they have done in the past.

This was the first time I ever saw Aborted. It was the first time they played Florida in years. Man, I went crazy! After so many years of loving this band and I never saw them live? You should have seen me flipping out when they played “Hecatomb,” “Meticulous Invagination,” “The Holocaust Incarnate,” and “Parasitic Flesh Resection.” I was headbanging so hard, I suffered a pretty gnarly bangover the next day!

I was able to speak to Sven while they were on the Hell Over North America tour. In the interview he discusses how many blast beats they play (four maximum) and other weird stuff such as when we do a bunch of weird redneck impressions. But in all seriousness, he discusses playing with fill-in guitar player Harrison Patuto, their upcoming Europe tour, and TerrorVision.

My name is Stephanie Jensen. I started my career as a music journalist five years ago. I had the idea for Infernal TV when I realized I desired more creative direction. I enjoyed working with video, so I decided to create a video-based website for metal bands.
