Adam of Hate Discusses Auric Gates of Veles and Touring Plans for 2019 | Infernal TV Episode 28
Very few bands can take a notable genre and turn it into something unique. Hate is one of the few bands who can pull it off. Hate has an aggressive sound with plenty of vigor and even melodies. They perfectly blend the best of the black and death metal genres. But Hate also uses lots of Slavic folklore and imagery in their music, making them stand out amongst the horde of extreme metal bands.
Hate has been around for almost 30 years. In my opinion, they really took off with their 2017 release Tremendum. They advanced with the Slavic themes but their sound is more authentic. While their previous material is still amazing, it sounds similar to the rest of the extreme metal bands around today.
Hate is continuing this theme with the new album, Auric Gates of Veles, which is out now. I only started listening to the new album recently, but from what I gathered, they’re only increasing their understanding of their sound and are maturing as a band.
The Devastation On the Nation Tour is where I first saw Hate live. Their set was one of my favorites of the night! Each member had so much energy and the crowd loved their set.
I was able to speak to Hate vocalist and guitarist Adam the First Sinner. In the interview, he discusses the tour, the new album, their push towards Slavic themes, and what he can say about touring for the rest of the year.
