Gus G of Firewind Discusses the New Album
At this point, Firewind has reached legendary status. Even though they only formed in the late 90’s, they have multiple albums behind their belt. The band’s founding member, Gus G, is one of the most influential guitar players to date.
But the real reason why Firewind is so legendary is because they continue to persevere. Their newest self-titled album proves this. They combine all of the aspects of their previous material while continuing to evolve.
One of the most defining aspects about this new album is the addition of vocalist Herbie Langhans. His voice is perfect for Firewind; Langhans unleashes powerful vocals but his voice fits the catchy melodies very well.
The album is one of their best to date. Every song is energetic but contains intoxicating hooks that pull the listener in. Firewind took all of their best qualities from their entire discography, resulting in them creating one of the most powerful releases in their discography.
Firewind was supposed to go on tour with Symphony X and Primal Fear. Unfortunately, the tour was postponed for 2021. But with this new album, the year should still be a good one for Firewind!
I was able to speak with Firewind’s Gus G. In the interview, he discusses the new album, new vocalist Langhans, and how Firewind has evolved.
