Markus Vanhala of Insomnium Discusses “Argent Moon”

Ever since 1997, Insomnium has been delivering their signature take on melodic death metal. Since their inception, they have released eight albums and toured all over the world. Like with many bands, the pandemic impacted Insomnium greatly. So much so to where they were in the US when the lockdown hit, and the band had to get rushed back to Finland.

Insomnium will release their newest EP, “Argent Moon,” on September 17. For this EP, they toned down the heaviness to bring a softer yet melancholic sound to their fans. The EP features more clean singing and calmer guitars. However, they don’t lose their unique touch.

Infernal TV was able to speak to guitarist Markus Vanhala. In the interview, we discuss writing the EP, their latest music videos, and Insomnium’s new beer.
