Revocation Show Review (2025)
On November 11th, I had the pleasure of seeing Revocation headlining The Orpheum in Tampa, Florida with Judiciary, Inferi, and Vomit Forth. It was a unique lineup and a slow Tuesday show, but I had one hell of a time.

First up was Vomit Forth, and what a crazy band to begin the show. The band was full of energy, and every member sounded amazing. I’m honestly picky about deathcore, but I always liked this band. Everyone in the band is super tight, and they have more versatility to their sound.
However, the crowd was disappointing. Out of curiosity, I watched other live performances, and the crowd went absolutely nuts for other shows. That said, it wasn’t the band’s fault; they were killer. The show was on a Tuesday, and the venue wasn’t as packed as it should have been for that stacked lineup.

Next up was Inferi. I was honestly shocked that they only played second. When I was talking to people in the crowd, most were there for Inferi more than any other band.

Inferi always had a powerful set, but new guitarist Sanjay Kumar takes this band up another level. This was also my first time seeing them with new drummer Nathan Bigelow. I remember him from Arkaik. He’s a super tight player and seriously underrated, so I’m glad he got the Inferi gig.

Of course, Stevie Boiser is such a talented and charismatic vocalist. Malcolm Pugh was shredding his ass off the whole set, and it was awesome to watch as always.
Inferi played so well that it was upsetting that they played a short set. They should have been direct support for Revocation.
This show was interesting. There were the death metal fans there for Revocation and Inferi, the deathcore fans for Vomit Forth, and hardcore fans for Judiciary.

Once Judiciary went on stage, the people hiding in the back came to the front of the stage and started going nuts. As I said, the crowd had been very quiet up until then, so it was really cool seeing all the support for Judiciary.

I have to be biased, I’m honestly not the biggest hardcore fan, so Judiciary’s music didn’t do much for me. But their live set was a lot of fun. You can tell these guys have a lot of passion, and the whole band had a ton of energy. Even drummer Austin Scott-Looney was super charismatic, making crazy facial expressions. Vocalist Jake Collinson was especially a force to be reckoned with and got the crowd moving on a sleepy Tuesday night.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Revocation. But I will say that this was the best set they played. The sound was excellent as always, and everyone played perfectly.

Revocation has two new members: guitarist Harry Lannon and bassist Alex Weber. I couldn’t have picked two better players for this band. I met Harry when he was on tour with Cognitive. He’s such a sick guitar player, and his playing style meshes perfectly with Dave Davidson’s. Alex is a versatile bass player, and he slayed with every band he’s played with, so it’s no surprise that he’s also killing it with Revocation.

I was shocked when Dave came out on stage with these crazy glasses. He said he just had LASIK surgery, and he needed to wear the glasses. I think the glasses look cool and should be part of Dave’s stage look from now on.
As far as their setlist goes, Revocation played a ton of stuff from their discography: new stuff like “Cronenberged” as well as classics like “Existence Is Futile.” But I was shocked to hear them play “Bound by Desire.” That’s my favorite Revocation song, and I never heard them play it live.
This tour is now over, but please support these bands and catch them at the next show!
